The Indian pharma and Biotech sectors are one of the fastest growing sectors in the world and collectively valued at over Rs. 600 Billion. The industries are traditionally Human Resource intensive and the strengthening of the IP & regulatory regimens have currently increased the demand for globally acceptable new age skills. Such specialized industry specific skills that will improve quality of manpower for industry as well serve to increase employability to students are offered by CREST. While the IPL course is open to all students of science and technology the other courses are open to students who have a bachelors or masters degree in pharma, biotech, chemistry, zoology or botany. Those who lack the knowledge about pharma will have to take a pre- requisite course that equips them with knowledge necessary for the chosen course.
CREST has in the past two years successfully passed three batches of students in the IPL course. The other courses are to be offered regularly from January 2010. The courses upgrade student skills to make them , “employable.”
